The National Assembly is set to vote on the confirmation motions for Constitutional Court justice nominees Ma Eun-hyuk, Jeong Gye-seon, and Cho Han-chang at the plenary session today (26th), following their confirmation hearings.
The Democratic Party, as the majority party, is expected to urge acting President Han Deok-soo to exercise his appointment authority immediately once the confirmation motions are passed, while coordinating the timing for submitting an impeachment proposal.
The People Power Party, which has opposed the appointment of the Constitutional Court justices, is considering filing a jurisdiction dispute petition with the Constitutional Court if the opposition forcefully passes the confirmation motions.
