The Ministry of Science and ICT announced, “A base station vehicle will be deployed at the joint memorial altar at Muan Airport.”

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced today (2nd) that it is supporting communication services for the families of victims and mourners at the scene in Muan from the day of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident to facilitate smooth resolution.

The ministry, together with the three mobile carriers, deployed six mobile base station vehicles and increased the capacity to handle traffic by installing additional 32 communication devices at Muan Airport and the Joint Memorial Site at Muan Sports Park.

Additionally, it set up 35 free Wi-Fi units at the airport and the memorial site, and is operating mobile phone charging stations while providing portable batteries to ensure that families and people at the site can use mobile phones and the internet without inconvenience.

Ryu Jae-myeong, Head of the Network Policy Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, “We will continue to work with the telecom companies to ensure there are no inconveniences until the situation at the site is fully resolved.”
