Soonchunhyang University Selected for ‘Advanced Industry Talent Development Bootcamp’ in AI 분야 (Field)

Suncheonhyang University (President: Song Byeong-guk) has been selected for the ‘Advanced Industry Talent Development Bootcamp (AI Field)’ project organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT). The university aims to establish itself as a hub for nurturing talent in design and manufacturing AI by investing a total project cost of 7.855 billion KRW over the next five years starting this year.

The AI Bootcamp project team at Suncheonhyang University will operate a short-term intensive training program (bootcamp) for practical design and manufacturing AI talent development in collaboration with Chungnam Technopark and local enterprises. Courses will range from beginner courses for non-majors to intermediate and advanced courses for training professionals and researchers. Each course will specialize in issuing certificates in either the design AI track or the manufacturing AI track.

Professor Han Sang-min, head of the project team and a faculty of the Information and Communication Engineering department, stated, “AI-based R&D (design) and automation (manufacture) will be introduced in all industrial fields in the future, so engineering and software education must evolve to nurture talent with AI application skills in industrial practice.” He added, “Through the AI bootcamp project, which trains short-term intensive talent in the AI field, we aim to create an educational model that can apply AI to all advanced industrial fields.”

With the selection of this AI field bootcamp project, Suncheonhyang University has achieved a milestone of participating in four advanced industry talent development projects supervised by the Ministry of Education and KIAT. This includes the biotechnology specialization college selected last year, as well as the semiconductor and display bootcamps.

Suncheonhyang University plans to further enhance its educational and research capabilities in the advanced industry field and aims to lead future-oriented talent development based on organic cooperation with regional industries through this project.
