“Sold 5,000 Units Over 22 Years… Hyundai’s 21st ‘Sales Master’ Emerges”

Kwon Gil-ju, the head of sales at Hyundai’s Suwon branch, has been named a “Sales Master” by Hyundai Motor Company. Over the past 22 years, Kwon has sold more than 5,000 vehicles, earning Hyundai’s prestigious “Sales Master” title, which has been awarded to only 20 other individuals in the passenger vehicle category.

Since joining Hyundai in 2003, Kwon has consistently achieved impressive sales performance, with an average of about 230 vehicles sold annually. Last month, he reached the milestone of selling 5,000 vehicles, becoming the 21st recipient of the “Sales Master” title at Hyundai.

Kwon has been recognized as the branch’s top salesperson in 2008, 2010, and 2012, and as the national top salesperson in 2009, 2011, and from 2013 to 2024. He has maintained a record of selling over 120 vehicles annually for 19 consecutive years, earning him a spot in the “Top Class.”

Reflecting on his career, Kwon shared, “From the moment I received my first employee ID, I remember running tirelessly from dawn to handle the field. By being sincere and sticking to the basics of sales, I’ve been able to achieve the dream of becoming a Sales Master because customers could trust me.”

Hyundai Motor Company has a sales honor award system in place to recognize and reward employees for their dedication and hard work in sales. The system grants titles and awards for reaching cumulative sales milestones, such as “Sales Artisan” for 2,000 units, “Sales Grand Master” for 3,000 units, “Sales Maestro” for 4,000 units, and “Sales Master” for 5,000 units sold.
