Former Bareunmirae Party leader Sohn Hak-kyu has expressed his support for Acting President and Prime Minister Han Deok-soo.
In an appearance on today’s (23rd) CBS Radio show ‘Kim Hyun-jung’s News Show,’ Sohn stated, “I believe Acting President Han has more competitiveness than any other candidate.”

Sohn emphasized, “The most important issues right now are trade pressure and the tariff war,” and argued that “we need a president who knows how to manage this crisis.”
He praised Acting President Han, noting, “Having directly dealt with the ‘tariff war’ as ambassador to the United States and as prime minister, he knows how to manage trade crises.”
Moreover, Sohn added, “If Acting President Han steps up and says, ‘I’ll act as a transitional government to change our country’s political system and power structure while managing the trade crisis, rather than seeking my own power,’ I’m prepared to support that.”

However, he revealed that while he was asked to help with the National Convention to urge Han’s presidential run held yesterday (23rd), he did not participate and clarified that the convention is not directly related to him.
In conclusion, he argued, “Acting President Han has grown more resilient while resisting and fighting against the tyranny of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and the opposition party, and will be able to make bold policy decisions.”
