Actor Yoon Ga-yi has been cast in the upcoming tvN drama “Asura Balbalta.” According to an OSEN report on the 12th, Yoon Ga-yi recently decided to participate in the drama after positively reviewing the script.
“Asura Balbalta” is a youth human comedy that tells the story of three unknown comedians and a woman whose life has collapsed, as they come together to find their lost dreams. Directed by Jung Ji-hyun of Genie TV’s “To My Harry,” the drama is produced by Studio Dragon. The series will also feature actors Kang Hoon, Jo Hyun-chul, and Lee Yi-dam.
Known for her appearance in the Coupang Play entertainment series “SNL Korea,” Yoon Ga-yi gained popularity and was nicknamed “Clear-eyed Madwoman.” After receiving a rookie award in variety entertainment and gaining success in the advertising industry, she decided to leave the SNL crew to focus on her acting career.
Yoon Ga-yi, a graduate of Seoul Institute of the Arts with a major in acting, made her debut in the 2019 film “Seonhee and Seulgi.” She has since appeared in dramas like “The Great Shaman Ga Doo-shim,” “Through the Darkness,” “Doctor Cha Jung-sook,” “House with a Yard,” “Revenant,” “Let’s Grab by the Collar Once,” “Family Plan,” and films like “Next So-hee.” Currently, she is starring as Na Gyu-rim in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama “My Perfect Secretary” and is part of director Park Chan-wook’s new film “It’s Unavoidable,” staying active as an actress.
Fans are looking forward to what new aspect Yoon Ga-yi will bring to her character in “Asura Balbalta.” The drama is set to air this fall with a total of 12 episodes.
