[Sports Chosun Reporter Park Aram] Koyote group member Shinji speculated on the reason why she is not getting married.
On the Channel A program ‘Close Friends Documentary – 4-Person Dining Table’ broadcasted on the 5th, scenes of actress Hyun Young, actor Park Tam-hee, and singer Shinji having a housewarming party were portrayed.
On that day, Hyun Young and Shinji revealed that they have been close friends for 18 years.
Shinji said that Hyun Young is like family to her and expressed her gratitude, stating, “My sister used to buy food and alcohol very well. She bought really delicious and good things for me. She would take me here and there, and it was so nice. At drinking gatherings, I shared a lot of my worries with my sister. My sister would give me advice like, ‘Don’t think too deeply or seriously. If you can’t figure it out after sleeping and waking up, then try something different at that time.’ She gave me lots of good advice. My sister’s simple and clear advice was a big help to someone like me who is sensitive. When I was having a hard time, she would call me every day. I became much brighter because of my sister. My sister is my life mentor.”
Shinji was asked by Hyun Young, “When was your last relationship?” To which Shinji confessed, “It was 4 years ago. I dated for 4 years and broke up. It was the best breakup I’ve had in all my relationships. It was the first time. After that, I didn’t really feel like meeting other men. Not at all.”
She then explained the reason for not dating, saying, “I was very busy right after the breakup. As I got older, I realized I couldn’t date anymore. If I couldn’t date, then I had to go on blind dates, but I couldn’t do that either. Eventually, I just didn’t have the chance to meet anyone.”
When asked, “Aren’t you lonely?” Shinji replied, “I am lonely. When I’m lonely, I watch TV. I’ve been living alone since I was 18 years old, so being alone is very familiar to me. My friends were the TV. And in the past, I loved drinking and meeting people, but now it’s too difficult. I don’t want to waste energy. I only want to pour out energy when I’m on stage or working on a show, and I want to fully recharge at home.”
Hyun Young cautiously asked, “But don’t you still need to have conversations with each other and be with someone who has warmth?” Shinji replied, making everyone laugh, “Nowadays, household appliances can have conversations. TVs are warm.”
She then guessed the reason for still not getting married by saying, “It’s not that we’re against marriage. Among the closest Koyote members, no one has gotten married yet. The three unmarried members hang out together. If one of us gets married, then it seems like we’ll all follow suit. And because Koyote is still active, it’s really fun for us to be together.”
Meanwhile, Hyun Young and Kim Jong-min ended their two-year relationship in 2009.
Hyun Young got married to a businessman in 2012 and has a daughter and a son.
