On the 26th, singer Shawn revealed his health status.
On the YouTube channel “With Shawn,” he uploaded a video titled “I will reveal all of my ‘health status’ that you are worried about..”
On that day, Shawn said, “Many people are curious about ‘Are your knee joints okay?’ and ‘How do you manage them?'” and said, “I came to check my health today” and visited a hospital.
After undergoing basic tests such as waist, knee X-rays, lower body strength measurement, autonomic nervous system examination, and body water examination, Shawn, who has had a complete health checkup for 10 years, answered why he did not have a health checkup in the past, saying, “I don’t want to know if there’s anything wrong. It’s a wrong thought, but if there’s something that will stop me, because I have so many things to do, like keep running and doing something.”
Then Shawn visited the examination room to hear the results of the health checkup.

When asked by the doctor if he actually has any pain, Shawn answered, “I had some treatment for my left hamstring in the past, and it pulls and hurts.” The doctor expressed concern, saying, “It seems not so good.”
Then when Shawn asked, “How about my joints and muscles?” the doctor exclaimed, “Your lower back is perfectly curved in a C-shape that is rare for someone your age (53 years old). Another amazing thing is that your vascular age is almost in the teens. I’ve never seen anyone scoring 100 on the 1st level. Your arteries and blood vessels are in great elastic condition, so there seems to be no need to worry about stroke or myocardial infarction at all.” The doctor continued, amazed, “Your muscle recovery elasticity is good because the circulation supports it well. I envy you.”
Next, he heard the results of the autonomic nerve system test. The doctor said, “This assesses tension, stress level, and fatigue level,” adding, “All your tension, stress, and fatigue levels are normal. So despite running like this, your fatigue level is not high at all. I thought ‘Your fatigue level is definitely high,’ but it’s normal. You’re really great.”
Shawn’s in-body test results were also perfect. The doctor praised him, saying, “Most people draw a C shape when they reach the peak of their weight, skeletal muscle mass, and body fat. Athletes draw a D shape, and you draw a D shape. You have high muscle mass. Your basic metabolic rate is in the range of 1525-1782, which is normal. But testing your basal metabolic rate, less than 10 out of 100 people have a normal basal metabolic rate. You are in the top tier. There is nothing to criticize.” The doctor continued to praise him.

The doctor said, “The thing I am most concerned about is your knee health, and even the joints are fine at this level. Many people are suffering from patellofemoral pain syndrome, but even that is symmetrically positioned correctly,” adding, “Your ankle joint is also fine. It’s almost the same as someone in their 20s-30s. It’s that good.”
When the production team asked, “Could genetics also have an influence?” the doctor replied, “That could be a factor. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been able to run for several years (so well)” and added, “Back when I first ran 81.5km, I kept following you. If you keep running like that for several years, it’s likely that your knees, ankles, cartilage, etc., might have been damaged. I think you could easily run until you’re 100 years old. There is nothing lacking in your muscles, joints, blood vessels, or heart. You are at the level of a 10-20 year old in terms of stamina. If you maintain this level, you should have no problem until you’re 100.” As Shawn heard all the results, he said, “The sunshine seems brighter today. It feels like I’ve received an award for running hard,” and with a happy smile, he said, “Go out and run, too.”
Meanwhile, Shawn has been running the ‘815 Run’ since Independence Day in 2020, covering 81.5km. It started with the aim of honoring the dedication and sacrifice of independence fighters and helping their descendants.
