**‘Casper Electric’ Base Trim Released**
Hyundai Motor Company will simultaneously release the facelifted model of the compact SUV, Casper, and the basic trim (detailed model) of the electric vehicle ‘Casper Electric’ on the 18th.
Hyundai announced on the 17th that it will launch ‘The New Casper’ on the 18th. This is the first facelift in about three years since the launch of the Casper in 2021. Compared to the existing model, the front bumper’s three-dimensional effect is more pronounced, giving the front a stronger impression. The design focus of the new Casper is on reducing aerodynamic drag during driving. The radiator grille and wheel design were changed, reducing the drag coefficient by about 6% compared to the previous model (0.36). The drag coefficient indicates how much air resistance a vehicle encounters when driving; the lower it is, the better the vehicle can move with less air resistance.
Additionally, the new Casper has enhanced safety and convenience features. Intelligent Speed Limiting Assist (ISLA) and cruise control are standard. It also includes an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, which maintains braking while stationary. The price for the new Casper ranges from 14.6 to 19.8 million KRW, with the van model priced between 14.5 and 15.5 million KRW.
Hyundai also announced the launch of the ‘Premium Trim,’ the basic model of the Casper Electric, on the same day. It comes equipped with a 42kWh NCM battery, enabling it to travel up to 278 km on a single charge. The price, with tax incentives applied, is set at 27.4 million KRW. With government and local subsidies, it is expected to be available in the high 10 million KRW range.
