On the 21st (local time), in response to the sudden news of Joe Biden, the U.S. President and the next Democratic presidential candidate, deciding to step down, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson argued that “Biden should step down from the presidency as well.”
Speaker Johnson, through a social media post, criticized, “The Democrats forcibly excluded their own candidate from the ballot just over 100 days before the election,” and stated, “They invalidated the votes of over 14 million Americans who chose Joe Biden as their candidate.”
He further stated, “If he is not suitable to run for president, he is not suitable to carry out the duties of the presidency,” and insisted, “He should resign from the presidency immediately.”
