Renault Korea Grand Koleos named ‘SUV of the Year’ at the ‘2025 Korea Car of the Year’ awards.

**Powerful Performance and Best-in-Class Certified Combined Fuel Economy**
Highly Praised for Comfortable Cabin and Advanced Safety and Convenience Features

On February 21, at the ‘2025 Korea Car of the Year (K-COTY)’ awards ceremony hosted by the Korea Automobile Journalists Association (KAJA) at Sebitseom, Seocho-gu, Seoul, it was announced that Renault Korea’s (CEO Stéphane Deblaize) mid-size SUV Grand Koleos was selected as the ‘SUV of the Year’.

Every year, the Korea Automobile Journalists Association selects vehicles across eight categories through three rounds of evaluations among new cars released in the domestic market. The Grand Koleos clinched the ‘SUV of the Year’ title during the final evaluation held at the Korean Automobile Safety Research Institute (KATRI) in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, on February 6.

The Grand Koleos, unveiled worldwide for the first time at the ‘2024 Busan Motor Show’ last year, became the fastest-selling new model in the brand’s history, surpassing a cumulative sales of 10,000 units in the shortest period. By January, it had sold over 24,000 units, showcasing strong sales performance.

The Grand Koleos E-Tech Hybrid, powered by a robust dual-motor system, delivers powerful yet efficient driving performance with a system output of 245 horsepower and a certified combined fuel economy of 15.7 km/l (based on the Techno Trim 19” tire). The Grand Koleos 2.0 gasoline turbo also boasts a maximum output of 211 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and maximum torque of 33.2 kg·m at 2,000-4,500 rpm, with a best-in-class certified combined fuel economy of 11.1 km/l (for 19” and 20” tire 2WD models).

The model is highly favored by domestic consumers for its high safety and spacious, comfortable interior. With the longest wheelbase of 2,820 mm among competitors, it ensures ample rear-seat and legroom, and advanced NVH reduction technology creates a quiet and comfortable cabin. Featuring 18% ultra-high-strength ‘Hot Press Forming (HPF)’ components, it is equipped with up to 31 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and convenience features to enhance safety.

Additionally, it is the first domestic model to feature the openR panoramic screen extending to the passenger seat, allowing the co-passenger to access various video content channels, including YouTube Cinema OTT service, via the Naver Whale browser even during drives. Starting from 2025 buyers, unlimited 5G data is provided free for five years, enabling the use of Grand Koleos’ hotspot functionality to connect various electronic devices and wireless communications with unlimited 5G data.

Im Seok-won, Renault Korea’s Chief Engineer (Director) for the Grand Koleos project, expressed, “The Grand Koleos was completed through the passion of domestic researchers and broad global collaboration under the Renault Group’s core value Human-First philosophy,” and added, “We will continue to conduct research to present technologies and cars that exceed customer expectations.”

Meanwhile, the Grand Koleos also confirmed its exceptional marketability by winning both the ‘Hybrid SUV of the Year’ and ‘Internal Combustion SUV of the Year’ categories at the ‘2025 Korea Car of the Year’ awards ceremony hosted by the Korea Automobile Professional Journalists Association (AWAK) on the 18th.
