Korea Consumer Agency: “Payment Settlement Issues Unresolved”, “The Korea Consumer Agency has urged consumers to be cautious, stating that there may be difficulties in proceeding with refund procedures following the commencement of Balran’s corporate rehabilitation proceedings.”,
According to industry reports on the 11th, Balran emphasized its commitment to actively respond to return and refund requests through its online mall. However, the payment settlement issues with sellers have not yet been resolved.
The Consumer Agency explained that consumers may face difficulties in obtaining refunds if they return products at the seller’s request, or if they proceed with return procedures due to defects.
Additionally, consumers who have not received their goods or refunds can file a claim with the Seoul Rehabilitation Court from the 19th of this month to the 9th of next month, as part of the rehabilitation procedure.
In cases where payment was made in installments using a credit card, consumers may request the suspension of installment payments from the credit card company if certain conditions are met (e.g., purchases over 200,000 won, installment period of three months or more).
A Consumer Agency representative stated, “If consumers need advice on handling related damages, they can inquire or seek consultation through the 1372 Consumer Counseling Center.”
