Poet Yoon Ji-yang has been selected for the 43rd Kim Soo-young Literary Award… Prize money of 10 million won.

[Seoul=Newsis] Poet Yoon Ji-yang has been selected as the recipient of the 43rd Kim Soo-young Literary Award.

The publishing company Minumsa announced on the 18th that Yoon Ji-yang’s “Novel” along with 57 other poems have been chosen as winners of this year’s Kim Soo-young Literary Award.

The judging committee for the Kim Soo-young Literary Award remarked, “Unlike the recent trend of focusing solely on one’s inner world, the attempt to gain expansiveness and universality through persuasive storytelling was commendable.” They also noted, “The boldness to choose challenges over pursuing self-assurance about ‘the poetic’ is a standout advantage,” and added, “The poet’s unique perspective and approach discovered wherever poetry is sparked is remarkable.”

The prize money is 10 million won. In early December, four representative poems from the award-winning collection will be published first in the literary magazine “Litter,” and the award-winning poetry collection is expected to be published within the year.

Yoon Ji-yang, born in 1992 in Daejeon, began her literary career by winning the New Year’s Literary Contest of the Korea Times in 2017. Her published work includes a poetry collection titled “Skid.”
