Is it just Kim Daeho? Kim Minkyung also tops the KBS shooting broadcast with high ratings, "I knew it would be like this"

[OSEN=Reporter Kang Seojeong] Kim Minkyung, a practical shooting national team member and a special commentary presenter for KBS shooting, led the shooting ratings to the top as a ‘viewership maker’ from a ‘sports genius’.

On the 28th (Korean time), during the women’s 10m air pistol final of the shooting broadcast that started in the afternoon, KBS secured the top spot in the same time slot with a viewership of 6.4% (Nielsen Korea, nationwide). Kim Minkyung, special commentary presenter, former shooting national team member Lee Daemyeong as a commentator, and caster Lee Kwangyong captivated viewers with their natural chemistry.

Before the start of the Women’s 10m air pistol final, commentator Lee Daemyeong expressed anticipation, saying, “Two players have advanced. Will it be us today… perhaps?” Kim Minkyung with her hands clasped together mentioned, “Whenever I get nervous, I perform well in the game,” and she watched the decisive moments of the medal competition with bated breath. As South Korea secured gold and silver medals, caster Lee Kwangyong exclaimed happily, “South Korea’s shooting is making a mark.”

South Korean athletes Oh Yejin and Kim Yeji ultimately engaged in a fierce battle for the gold and silver medals. Kim Minkyung cheered, saying, “I knew it would be like this.” Additionally, commentator Lee Daemyeong couldn’t contain his excitement, saying, “What if she shoots a 0 here. We already got the medal.”

Oh Yejin and Kim Yeji became the first South Koreans to win gold and silver medals in women’s 10m air pistol shooting. Oh Yejin, who set an Olympic record, recalled the moment of glory, saying, “I was satisfied because the gun barrel stayed still at the moment of shooting.” Kim Yeji, who received the silver medal, said, “I always have confidence. Even if I fall short, I will definitely show you a gold medal in one of the upcoming events,” expressing her ambition for the remaining events.

In the 2024 Paris Olympics, 206 countries from around the world will participate, with 329 events across 32 sports. KBS is presenting the broadcasts of Korean national team athletes participating in the Olympics under the slogan ‘Together Together Ensemble’ in a distinctive and lively manner with top-notch commentators, representing the country and aiming for ‘one hundred percent success’. /[email protected]
