, ‘The Korea Culture and Arts Commission will transform the former Hakjeon Small Theater in Daehangno, which symbolized the culture of small theaters, into a children and youth-oriented performance hall and open it in July. The Commission plans to hold a national contest to find a new name for the Hakjeon Small Theater. ‘,
,
, ‘Inherited the historical and identity values of Hakjeon in Daehangno that closed in March, the Commission announced that it will operate the small theater as a children and youth-centered performance hall. The Commission leased the building and after remodeling, it will operate as a children and youth-oriented performance hall starting in July. It aims to expand the social role of the small theater as a public theater. The plan is to reduce the rental fees for using the performance hall to alleviate the burden on performance groups and to collaborate with arts groups in Daehangno. Starting this year, works selected through children and youth support programs in the musical and theater fields supported by the Commission will be showcased in the new performance hall.’,
,
, ‘As part of this, the Commission will hold a “National Theater Name Contest” publicizing the new name of the space. Anyone can participate in the contest, and you can submit an application online from May 9th (Thurs) to 17th (Fri).’,
,
, ‘Furthermore, the space will also be used as a venue for discovering and supporting rookie musicians in line with Kim Min-ki’s philosophy, such as the “Kim Kwang-seok Song Awards Competition.” Additionally, the “Kim Kwang-seok Memorial Statue” located in the Hakjeon Small Theater courtyard will be preserved as it is. Through this, the space will be supported to continue its legacy as a cultural space hosting various cultural events.’,
