Rapper NO:EL (Jang Yong-jun) attended the final farewell of his father, the late former People Power Party lawmaker Jang Je-won.
The funeral service was held at 8:30 a.m. on the 4th at the Haeundae Baek Hospital in Busan. As the chief mourner, NO:EL stood by and greeted the guests, at times showing tears.
From the 2nd, NO:EL wore a mourning band at the funeral hall to greet the guests. Despite his noticeable yellow-dyed hair, he maintained a somber expression throughout. Some reported that he could not hide his emotions as he greeted certain guests.
NO:EL informed fans via a KakaoTalk open chat room that he would send off his father, showing that he was with him in his final moments.
Meanwhile, some netizens left malicious comments on NO:EL’s social media concerning the death of Jang. In response, NO:EL closed the comments section, and the management of the account will be temporarily handled by his agency, Indigo Music.
The late former lawmaker Jang passed away on March 31. He had been under police investigation since November 2015 for allegations of sexual assault against his secretary, identified as A, from his time as a vice president at a university in Busan. Although A’s side initially planned a press conference to reveal the reasons behind the complaint, it was canceled following Jang’s passing.
NO:EL gained public attention through appearances on Mnet’s “High School Rapper” and “Show Me the Money 6” in 2017. He officially debuted with the single “Appendix” the same year and has been active in the music industry since. The news of his father’s death has shocked fans and the public, increasing interest in NO:EL’s future activities.
