New York stock market closed lower despite Nvidia’s strong performance… Dow down 1.5%

Despite the strong performance of leading AI chip maker Nvidia, the New York Stock Exchange closed lower.

Today, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 605.78 points, or 1.53%, to close at 39,065.26 compared to the previous trading day.

The S&P 500 index declined by 39.17 points, or 0.74%, to 5,267.84, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq index dropped by 65.51 points, or 0.39%, to 16,736.03.
