“Na-na mother-daughter attacker” makes absurd claim, says “was not informed of Miranda rights”

A man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, who broke into the home of actress Nana, formerly from the group After School, while armed with a weapon, is set to be sent to the prosecution in custody on the 24th. Previously, on the 15th, Mr. A intruded into Nana’s home located in Achun-dong, Guri City, Gyeonggi Province. He used a ladder he had brought to climb onto the balcony and then entered through an unlocked door while wielding a weapon, subsequently threatening Nana and her mother for money. Nana and her mother managed to subdue him after a struggle and reported him to the police, who arrested him on the spot.

However, during this incident, both Nana and her mother sustained serious injuries, with her mother losing consciousness at one point. They are currently under strict medical care for recovery. According to Guri Police Station, Mr. A was unemployed at the time, and it was determined that he did not specifically target Nana as a fan or due to her celebrity status. He reportedly claimed during police investigations that he was unaware it was a celebrity’s residence and committed the crime due to financial difficulties.

On the 17th, the Uijeongbu District Court, Namyangju Branch, issued an arrest warrant for Mr. A on charges of aggravated robbery and injury. However, on the 18th, the day after being detained, Mr. A requested a review of his detention, arguing that the police did not inform him of his Miranda rights during the arrest, but the court rejected his appeal. This request for a detention review has extended the detention period, and the police plan to transfer Mr. A to the prosecution on the 24th.

Nana’s agency, Sublime, released an official statement emphasizing that the stability of the victims and their family is the priority and requested the public refrain from spreading speculative, false information or content that invades privacy, as it could cause secondary harm. The agency further committed to supporting Nana and her family to ensure their full recovery.
