Munoz, President of Hyundai Motor, on the tariff negotiation settlement: “Business has become more predictable.”

José Muñoz, president of Hyundai Motor Company, described the U.S.-Korea tariff agreement finalized on the 31st of last month (local time) as a “crucial framework that provides clarity and predictability for future business.”

José Muñoz, CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, stated that the resolution of U.S.-Korea trade negotiations has established a predictable environment that allows for the execution of long-term plans.

On the 31st of last month, through LinkedIn, President Muñoz announced that this agreement supports Hyundai Motor Group’s U.S. investment strategy, valued at $21 billion (approximately 29 trillion won), and contributes to the creation of over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs.

He further mentioned that the electric vehicle-dedicated plant established in Georgia, USA, including the mention of Metaplant America, will serve as a foundation for further expanding the integrated manufacturing ecosystem in the United States.

Additionally, President Muñoz noted, “The Namyang Research Center in Korea is developing key designs and technologies for vehicles produced in U.S. factories, and the seamless collaboration between Korea’s engineering capabilities and U.S. manufacturing capabilities is leading global innovation.”
