LGU+ “Check for Smishing and Phishing Security at U+ Stores”

“Photo Credit = LG Uplus” – [Seoul Economy] LG Uplus (032640) is conducting a ‘U+ Week’ promotion throughout May to prevent phishing and smishing. Customers who make a reservation in advance and visit the store can check the security score of their smartphone through the LG Uplus customer center application (app). Customers can also experience the voice phishing detection feature provided by LG Uplus’s artificial intelligence (AI) agent service, ‘ixi-O’. The voice phishing detection feature analyzes call contents in real-time, providing alerts if suspicious activity is detected.

LG Uplus is also holding a prize event for customers participating in U+ Week. Prizes include Daiso product vouchers (worth 3,000 won) and Compose Coffee vouchers (for a cafe latte).

Additionally, LG Uplus is running a promotion offering free insurance products to compensate for actual damages in case they occur. Customers who apply for phishing/hacking insurance during the promotion period, which continues until July, can receive phishing hacking insurance benefits from KB Insurance without any cost.

Eligible for free insurance application are long-term customers who have used LG Uplus for over 2 years (for 4 months), new and existing ixi-O subscribers (for 4 months), and new subscribers of the Nougat postpaid plan (for 24 months).

Insurance subscribers can receive compensation of up to 3 million won if funds are withdrawn from their account or charged to their credit card due to scams like phishing, hacking, smishing, or pharming.
