Lee Mi-joo: “Streaming revenue for ‘Apartment’ by Roze is 13.3 billion won, while BTS’s ‘Dynamite’ reaches 245.7 billion won” (Hit Song)

In the show “Hit Song of the 20th Century,” songs that could shock parents are revealed. The 265th episode of KBS Joy’s “Hit Song of the 20th Century,” airing tonight (16th) at 8:30 PM, will showcase mega-hit songs with extraordinary revenue, themed “Smell of Money~ Songs that Make You Go ‘Wow!'”.

In the early part of the broadcast, Lee Mi-joo asks, “Do you know what APT. (Apartment), Growl, and Dynamite have in common?” explaining, “These songs became huge hits and generated enormous revenue,” adding, “Apartment had streaming revenue of 13.3 billion won, Growl’s album sales were 10.5 billion won, and Dynamite’s estimated sales were about 245.7 billion won.”

The episode also features Kim Jang-hoon’s “I’m a Man (2001).” An introduction states, “Music critic Lim Jin-mo mentioned that between 1999 and 2000, college girls’ biggest interests were god or Kim Jang-hoon,” highlighting his popularity at the time.

Further, it is introduced that during his peak, Kim Jang-hoon’s annual income was over 8 billion won, which surprises Kim Hee-chul and Lee Mi-joo.

Kim Hee-chul says, “Back then, there were over 300 events in a year and about 40 to 50 advertisements, and he donated all the advertising revenue,” adding, “He enjoyed giving to people around him and often gifted cars to his staff, a total of 19 in sum.” Lee Mi-joo adds, “It’s said he once wrapped 5 million won in newspaper and gave it to his manager.”

When asked about the most extravagant gift he gave his staff, Kim Hee-chul humorously responds, “I give a lot for wedding gifts. Think of how much they have struggled beside me. Would I have received this much love without them?” creating a joyful atmosphere.

Additionally, Kim Hee-chul raises expectations by mentioning, “‘I’m a Man’ music video was a hit,” noting that actor Cha Seung-won featured in the video as a character opposing Kim Jang-hoon.

“Hit Song of the 20th Century” is available on LG U+tv channel 1, Genie tv channel 41, SK Btv channel 53, and via the KBS mobile app ‘my K.’ Local cable channel numbers can be found on the KBS N website.
