A Korean tourist was shot and killed by a motorcycle robber in a tourist spot in the Philippines.
The local embassy has issued an urgent safety notice, highlighting that security is very unstable ahead of the Philippine general elections in May.

At around 1 PM local time yesterday, a Korean tourist was attacked by two robbers in Angeles Koreatown.
The victim, shot and collapsed, was taken to a hospital in a state of cardiac arrest but was pronounced dead.
The Korean Embassy in the Philippines has requested a swift and thorough investigation from the local police, while also working to confirm the victim’s identity and details of the incident.
Last month, a Korean man in Manila was also shot and killed by a pickpocket robber.
The embassy has warned that due to heightened political tensions ahead of next month’s Philippine general elections, security has become unstable, urging expatriates and tourists to refrain from going out at night and to take personal safety precautions.

At around 7:30 PM yesterday, a transformer exploded in the basement of an apartment building in Jangan-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi Province.
As a result of the incident, a worker inspecting electrical facilities suffered second-degree burns and was taken to the hospital, while electricity supply was cut off to over 700 households, causing inconveniences to residents for about two hours.
Police and fire authorities are investigating the precise cause of the accident.
