(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Dong-kyu = Korea Zinc announced on the 4th that it will participate in ‘InterBattery 2025,’ the nation’s largest battery exhibition, held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, from the 5th to the 7th.

Korea Zinc, the world’s No. 1 in non-ferrous metals, plans to showcase its value chain in the secondary battery materials business, which is now on track thanks to its smelting technology accumulated over the past 50 years. The company will focus on promoting its ‘Troika Drive,’ a future growth engine.

The Korea Zinc booth will consist of sections such as a company introduction, main diorama, nickel and precursor, copper foil, and ESG (Environment, Social, Governance).

In the central main diorama, the flow of producing precursors—a key material for secondary batteries—from nickel sulfate as a raw material will be displayed, as well as the process of using 100% recycled materials to produce electrolytic copper, which is used as raw material for electrolytic copper foil.

In the Nickel Zone, content related to the ‘nickel sulfate production technology,’ which is designated as a national strategic technology, and the ‘all-in-one nickel smelter’ set to begin commercial production at the end of 2026 will be exhibited.

In the Copper Foil Zone, Korea Zinc’s subsidiary KZAM will display real electrolytic copper foil, a key material for anodes in secondary batteries.

A Korea Zinc representative said, “We have organized the booth to allow a comprehensive look at the secondary battery materials business, a core of the Troika Drive. We particularly emphasized our world-leading technology and resource circulation system, which can contribute to the self-sufficiency of the global supply chain.”
