Koo Jun-yup, the current husband of the late Seo Hee-won, will receive a share of her significant inheritance, which has been finalized. According to Taiwan’s ET Today and other local media on the 3rd, the inheritance and custody of Seo Hee-won’s children have been settled according to the law. Koo Jun-yup and the family of the deceased will receive the inheritance, but since the two children are minors, their biological father Wang Xiaofei will manage it until they turn 18.
Wang Xiaofei has recently visited Taiwan for the second time and initially planned to take the children to handle related legal matters. Although there were rumors of a dispute over the inheritance, both parties have reached a peaceful agreement, and everything has been handled legally, as reported by Taiwan’s Sanli News Network (SETN). Wang Xiaofei’s side mentioned that there were no immediate plans to bring the children to Beijing and any future plans will be made with consideration of the children’s growth.
Koo Jun-yup earlier expressed on his social media that he would respect his wife, who worked hard for her family, by giving all of Seo Hee-won’s inheritance to her mother-in-law. However, local media reported that a post made by Seo Hee-won’s mother accusing someone of lying led to speculation about the inheritance process. When asked if Koo Jun-yup had given up his entitlement to the inheritance according to the agreement, her family declined to comment, stating they were in mourning.
The location of Seo Hee-won’s remains has also attracted attention. The family is preparing to select a private cemetery for better privacy so that Koo Jun-yup can have a dedicated space to commemorate his late wife. However, they have not yet contacted a professional undertaker and are still searching for a suitable burial site together, as Koo Jun-yup is not familiar with private cemeteries in Taiwan.
Although the inheritance and guardianship matters are settled, the execution of inheritance promises and the deceased’s final resting place still require further confirmation. Seo Hee-won passed away from pneumonia associated with the flu during a trip to Japan with her family at the age of 48. Her ashes arrived in Taiwan on the 5th but have yet to find a permanent resting place after a month.
