In the TV show “Joseon’s Love Riders,” Chae Ri-na and Park Yong-geun expressed their regret about not having held a wedding 10 years ago. On the episode aired on the 3rd, the story of Chae Ri-na and Park Yong-geun finally having their wedding after a decade was shared cautiously.
Previously, Chae Ri-na explained the reason for not having a wedding ceremony despite being married for 10 years. In 2012, Chae Ri-na and Park Yong-geun were involved in the “Gangnam knife attack incident” during a gathering with acquaintances. Park Yong-geun was in critical condition, receiving a diagnosis of “99% chance of death” but fortunately survived. Unfortunately, the ex-wife of Cool’s Kim Sung-soo, who had introduced Chae Ri-na and Park Yong-geun, was also present and tragically passed away due to the attack. This led Chae Ri-na and Park Yong-geun to quietly start their married life without holding a formal ceremony despite their romantic development.
As wedding planner activities were set in motion, the members of the group Diva began planning at Chae Ri-na’s house. They decided on a wedding tour, having collected about 50 potential venues, but the couple only wanted 10 guests. While passing by Jamsil Stadium, Park Yong-geun recalled it as the place he first met Chae Ri-na and wondered about holding their wedding there. Chae Ri-na expressed her reservations about having photos taken related to sports figures.
However, Min-kyung and Jin-i attempted to arrange for Jamsil Stadium as the wedding venue. Upon arriving, both Park Yong-geun and Chae Ri-na were initially surprised but then fondly reminisced about their memories there as it was their first meeting place.
Under Min-kyung’s direction, Park Yong-geun finally stood in the middle of the wedding hall and walked down the “virgin road” alone, marking his first time doing so in their 10-year marriage. Chae Ri-na wished they had ignored others’ perspectives and had the courage to hold their wedding back then, feeling an overwhelming emotional surge with the music playing. Park Yong-geun echoed the sentiment, feeling the expression of regret was appropriate.
Both expressed a shared sentiment, wishing they had gone ahead with their wedding despite the circumstances.
