Kim Jong-in: “Yoon-Han Dong-hoon, distant like Cho Yong-pil’s ‘Empty Space'”

Kim Jong-in, the former head of the Reform Party’s candidate management committee, claimed that the relationship between President Yoon Suk-yeol and Han Dong-hoon, the former emergency planning chief of the People Power Party, has become irreparable. Kim cited the lyrics of singer Cho Yong-pil’s song ‘Empty’ to emphasize how distant their relationship has become, saying that it is “too far to turn back.”

He further stated in a CBS Radio interview that even if there were things that displeased the president during the general election, it would have been better to give Han more discretion and responsibility, implying that their relationship soured due to not doing so. Kim added that he does not believe it is necessary to make a definitive judgment on whether Han will run in the People Power Party convention and acknowledged that Han must have keenly felt the political boundaries set by the party leader as he is not a foolish person.
