Kim Byung-man had two children out of wedlock: “Children born after marital breakdown” → Adopted daughter files ‘biological child lawsuit’

[Reporter Yoon Na Lee from Sports Chosun] Comedian Kim Byung-man has revealed that he already has two children with his fiancée, with whom he plans to remarry.

This information came to light when his adopted daughter, brought by his ex-wife, filed a lawsuit to confirm the existence of another out-of-wedlock child of Kim Byung-man. His management acknowledged the existence of the children.

On the 7th, Kim Byung-man’s agency commented on the adopted daughter’s lawsuit, stating, “The outcome of the lawsuit to annul the adoption of his daughter, adopted as his legal child, will be announced on the 8th,” adding, “It seems she is pursuing the suit with unreasonable claims due to the situations.”

The agency further explained, “After his marriage broke down with ex-wife A, Kim Byung-man had two children with the woman he is planning to marry this fall,” acknowledging the existence of the two children. However, details such as the children’s gender and exact birth years were not disclosed.

According to TenAsia, Kim Byung-man’s adopted daughter, B, filed a lawsuit at the Seoul Family Court against him, seeking a confirmation suit regarding the existence of biological children.

B asserted, “Before his marriage legally ended with A, Kim Byung-man seemed to have had two children with another woman. These children are likely his out-of-wedlock offspring,” and requested the court to order a DNA test to confirm whether they are really Kim Byung-man’s biological children, citing her interest in inheritance matters.

Kim Byung-man had married his 7-year-older ex-wife A with a marriage registration in 2010. They reportedly began living separately one to two years post-marriage and proceeded through a divorce process until their divorce was finalized in 2020.

His ex-wife continued with divorce and property division lawsuits, which reached the Supreme Court in 2023, resulting in a final divorce ruling. The asset division was determined to be 75% for Kim Byung-man and 25% for A, mandating A to transfer 1/2 ownership, change insurance contract ownership to Kim Byung-man, and return close to 1 billion KRW.

Kim Byung-man’s ex-wife A had accused him of habitual domestic violence, but Kim Byung-man was ultimately deemed innocent by the court.

However, Kim Byung-man is continuing with a lawsuit for disinheritance involving his ex-wife’s daughter. He had adopted the daughter from her previous marriage as his legal child after marrying his ex-wife. When he divorced, he filed a lawsuit for disinheritance but lost as the daughter opposed the decision.

The verdict on B’s related lawsuit for disinheritance is expected on the 8th.

Meanwhile, Kim Byung-man is scheduled to marry a younger, non-celebrity office worker on September 20 on the rooftop of Sebitseom in Seoul instead of the initially planned ceremony in Jeju, considering guests’ travel.

Having moved to Jeju, he has already set up a new home and opened an interactive theme cafe ‘Byungmanland’, while sharing his daily life in Jeju on his YouTube channel ‘It’s Kim Ban-jang!’ Following the announcement of his remarriage, he is reportedly in discussions to appear on TV Chosun’s variety show ‘Joseon’s Lover’, sparking interest in whether he will introduce his bride on the show.
