“(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Han Sang-yong = Kia announced on this day that it will participate in the ‘Poland International Defense Industry Exhibition (MSPO 2024),’ which will be held at the Targi Kielce exhibition center in Poland from the 3rd to the 6th (local time).
The MSPO exhibition, now in its 32nd year, is the largest defense exhibition in Eastern Europe, held annually since 1993.
Since participating in this exhibition last year, Kia will unveil the medium-sized standard vehicle ‘CaptSashi’ for the first time in Europe at this year’s event.
The Kia medium-sized standard vehicle CaptSashi is a vehicle comprised of the basic frame and engine of the vehicle, with only the cabin room where the driver and passengers sit attached. It can be developed in various forms depending on the intended use.
Kia’s medium-sized standard vehicle was developed to replace the existing 2.5t and 5t military standard vehicles. It is equipped with various convenience features such as front and rear cameras and navigation, allowing for safer transportation of personnel and materials.
It is highly evaluated for its ability to cross a 1m deep river, ascend and descend slopes, and drive sideways on slopes. It can accommodate up to 22 people and demonstrate mobility even in rough driving conditions.
Kia will also showcase the small tactical vehicle BearSashi at this exhibition. The small tactical vehicle BearSashi, excluding the cabin room, can be developed into various types of equipment, including armored vehicles.
The small tactical vehicle is a vehicle that assists safe military movement based on powerful mobility. It is equipped with various safety specifications such as bulletproof glass, panels, and anti-personnel mine protective flooring.
Kia’s small tactical vehicle has also been selected as a new vehicle in recent Polish military vehicle replacement projects. It is being exported not only to our military but also to Southeast Asia, Central and South America.
A Kia official said, “We will continue to develop special vehicles with various innovative technologies and continuously present the future vision of military mobility.”
