‘Recognition for Results in Operating Welfare Systems Based on “Immersion and Leisure” Work Culture. “Kakao Games (CEO Han Sang-woo) announced on the 6th that it has been re-certified in the “2025 Leisure-Friendly Certification” review organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.”
The Leisure-Friendly Certification is a system that selects companies and institutions that exemplarily support and operate so that employees can harmoniously pursue work and leisure activities, awarding related certifications. Re-certification reviews are conducted every three years.
“The company is oriented towards a work culture of ‘immersion and leisure,’ operating advanced leisure-friendly systems and programs to help employees maintain work-life balance. Recognized for these achievements, it has obtained re-certification following its initial certification in 2022.”
“Notably, Kakao Games introduced the industry’s first ‘Nolfri’ system in 2018, allowing employees to take the last Friday of each month off, and expanded this to a bi-weekly basis starting in 2021. Additionally, they support a leisurely work environment with 30 minutes later start on Mondays, 1 hour and 30 minutes early finish on Fridays, and extended lunch breaks, allowing employees to enjoy ample leisure time and focus more on their work.”
“Furthermore, to promote self-development and recharge, they operate systems such as an annual 3.6 million won self-development welfare point, ‘Awesome Jeju,’ which offers accommodations in a private house in Jeju and additional leave, and ‘exclusive camping car rental.'”
“In addition to these, they foster a healthy and enjoyable work environment by providing breakfast services, a snack bar, and a massage room called ‘Cider Room,’ as well as offering free consultation services with experts in various fields such as mental health, finance, and law.”
“A Kakao Games representative stated, ‘Creating a balanced work environment between life and work is also a path to the company’s sustainable growth and strengthening competitiveness,’ adding that they will continue to enhance employees’ work-life balance satisfaction with differentiated welfare systems.”
