, ‘The Innovative Digital Medical Science Center will be established as a key hub consolidating bio-research capabilities. It will be constructed as a building with one basement floor and six above-ground floors, covering a total area of 9,730㎡, with a budget of 42.2 billion KRW, including 27 billion KRW in government funding. The completion is targeted for the second half of 2027 (July to December), and it will house a digital-based bio-new drug research and development center, an AI precision medicine platform research center, digital medical and bio-shared equipment laboratories, and shared spaces for companies and entrepreneurs.’,

, ‘The center aims to train next-generation physician-scientists and composite research talents by integrating medical science, life sciences, engineering, and AI. KAIST expects to increase the number of physician-scientists trained annually from about 20 to 50-70.’,

, ‘The sixth floor of the Medical Science Center will host the Daejeon Bio-Medical Venture Cluster, serving as an open innovation space where researchers from KAIST, government-funded research institutions in the Daedeok Innopolis, and bio-medical startups can jointly use expensive research equipment, share research results and technologies, and collaborate. Mayor Lee Jang-woo stated, “The KAIST Innovative Digital Medical Science Center will be a core infrastructure that completes the virtuous cycle structure leading to talent cultivation, technology commercialization, and startups.”
