Jo Gyeong-tae: “The leader is instigating conflict and causing division”… Jang Dong-hyuk: “Decisions made at the necessary time”

Vision Presentation by Party Chairman Candidate Cho Kyung-tae (Cheongju = Yonhap News) Reporter Hwang Kwang-mo = Cho Kyung-tae, who ran for the People Power Party chairman election, is presenting his vision at the 6th National Convention of the People Power Party held at Cheongju Osco in Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju, Chungbuk on the 22nd.

Cho Kyung-tae, a member of the People Power Party who lost in the party’s chairman election, criticized the new chairman Jang Dong-hyuk, stating, “The leader who should unify the party and guide it on the right path is making statements that provoke conflict and incite division without hesitation.”

On the 27th, on social media, Cho wrote, “As long as there is a force that openly supports and defends former President Yoon Seok-yeol while shouting ‘Yoon Again,’ it will be difficult for the People Power Party to shed the stigma of being a rebellious party.”

Cho continued, “Isn’t it predictable what the results of the rebellion special prosecutor’s investigation will be? What’s wrong with saying we should move on from former President Yoon’s illegal, unconstitutional martial law? Who is supposed to apologize to whom and for what?”

He further criticized, “Just because the ‘Yoon Again’ forces united to win the party chairman election, does that justify everything? Can anyone just make empty promises? What kind of party is this fighting for? It’s just unfortunate and pathetic.”

Additionally, he warned, “We must be wary of any ongoing or future ‘lemming syndrome.’ The historical notion that majority opinions must be followed unconditionally, regardless of right or wrong, has left very tragic and unfortunate examples. Hitler is a typical case. I hope it serves as a lesson.”

In response, the new chairman Jang stated he would not respond to each criticism on a day-to-day basis.

After visiting the Seoul National Cemetery in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, as his first official appointment post-inauguration, Jang mentioned to reporters, “During the party convention, I think it’s okay to have various discussions about past events. However, after the convention, I mentioned that we should move forward towards the future, and I believe that is correct.”

He added, “If there comes a time when a suitable decision needs to be made, I will make the necessary decision, but for now, I will not respond to each and every statement.”
