[TV Report=Nam Geum-ju Reporter] Comedian Jeong Jeong-a shed tears as she talked about her son’s developmental delay.

On the episode of MBN’s ‘Dongchimi Show’ that aired on the 20th, Jung Ae-ri, Kim Cheong, Jung Han-yong, Lee Jae-yong, Lee Hyun-joo, Lee Yoo-mi, Park Wan-kyu, and Jung Tae-ho made appearances.

On this day, Jeong Jeong-a talked about an airplane crash under the theme ‘Almost Died But There Is No Law Saying I Should Die.’ She said, “It’s a story from 15 years ago. It was a shoot to catch an Anaconda in the Amazon. Isn’t it rare for anyone to go to the Amazon in their lifetime?” She continued, “I was talking with my father on the way to the airport when we got into a car accident. Despite not feeling well, I drove the damaged car to the airport. We went to Peru as a layover, planning to cancel the ticket and stay one more day.”

Jeong Jeong-a said, “Strangely, the reporters gathered there. The plane we were supposed to board had already taken off and crashed, resulting in all aboard dying. It all happened within a week from the car accident to the plane crash and getting bitten by an Anaconda.”

Jeong Jeong-a then talked about her son’s situation. Having suffered three miscarriages, Jeong Jeong-a said, “I gave birth on the fourth attempt. When he was sent to the daycare at 28 months old, he lacked eye contact and wouldn’t respond when called. I thought he had a chic personality like my husband. But the daycare teacher suggested that he get a developmental assessment.”

Her son was diagnosed with autism. Jeong Jeong-a expressed, “But I just couldn’t accept it. I was told to go to another hospital by my mom and others. When we went to a different hospital, he was diagnosed with autism and intellectual disabilities. His violence was too severe, and he couldn’t be controlled. There wasn’t a day when I didn’t have bruises and scratches on my face or hands from him. If I didn’t pull my hair out bit by bit, he wouldn’t calm down. My heart was pounding in fear that my son, whom I gave birth to, might open his eyes.”

Jeong Jeong-a said, “We recorded video and went to the hospital, and they said it was not autism but a severe developmental delay. They told us not to make him do things he dislikes. It was a deficiency disorder due to severe violence or parental indifference. Our son was a delicate case.”

She continued, “He is receiving special education at daycare. I said, ‘When you’re sick, you have to take medicine,’ but I couldn’t give psychiatric medication to a three-year-old child. I asked my husband for help and administered it for about a week. As the child began to stabilize, he started giving me things and interactions began, so I cared for him for two years.”

Jeong Jeong-a showed tears as she said, “In April this year, they said he no longer needs treatment and can go to a regular elementary school.”
