“Impeachment Opposition” Choi Joon-yong, Restaurant Rating Attack → “Mindless Amoebas” Debate

Actor Choi Jun-yong publicly voiced his opposition to the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol and expressed support for martial law. After making these statements, he responded to some netizens criticizing him by saying, “Don’t come to my feed and make noise.”

On January 6th, Choi Jun-yong left a message on his social media, telling his critics to stay away, using derogatory terms to refer to them and indicating he didn’t know them.

Previously, on the 4th, Choi participated in the ‘People’s Rally Against the Impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol’ near Donghwa Duty-Free Shop in Jongno-gu, Seoul, where he delivered a speech. He shared his shock at the sudden declaration of martial law on December 3rd and his disappointment that it ended so quickly, suggesting it should have been executed more thoroughly. He later reflected that he might not have understood the greater purpose behind President Yoon’s actions.

Choi also commented on the appearances of anti-government forces and critics carrying signs against President Yoon, mentioning foreign interference and questioning the presence of spies in the country. He criticized a protest happening in Hannam-dong without proper permits and told those protesters to leave the country if they disliked it.

Choi has been a public supporter of President Yoon since the 2022 presidential election and attended his inauguration. However, following his recent remarks against impeachment, his restaurant reportedly suffered from a negative review attack.
