IBK Industrial Bank (Bank President Kim Seong-tae) announced on the 13th that it has expanded and reopened the Ansan Foreign Financial Center (pictured) in Ansan City, Gyeonggi Province, which has the highest number of foreign residents in Korea, to strengthen customized financial services for foreign customers.
Opened in May 2008, the Ansan Foreign Financial Center is a dedicated branch for foreign customers. It operates not only on weekdays but also on Sundays, with employees fluent in six languages offering tailored financial services such as explaining major products, their enrollment, and the installation of the ‘i-One Bank Global’ app.
Through this expansion and reopening, the bank established a system that provides real-time interpretation and translation services in a total of 38 languages, allowing foreign customers to use it as conveniently as their own country’s bank. This is expected to greatly alleviate the inconvenience faced by foreign customers in accessing financial services due to language barriers.
An IBK representative stated, “We will continue to expand inclusive financial services that overcome language and cultural barriers, so foreign customers can design a better life through finance in Korea.”
Last month, IBK also launched new products tailored to the financial needs of foreign customers, including the ‘IBK BUDDY’ account and card. The ‘IBK BUDDY account’ offers benefits such as waived fees, including electronic transfer fees, reducing the financial burden on foreign customers, and provides an 80% preferential exchange rate for major foreign currencies (USD, JPY, EUR). The ‘IBK BUDDY card’ offers a 5% discount in lifestyle-related sectors such as public transportation, telecommunications, and convenience stores, with a monthly maximum integrated discount of up to 10,000 KRW. To celebrate the launch of these new products, IBK is holding an event until June 30, where customers who open both the ‘IBK BUDDY’ account and card will be entered into a draw to win a cash prize of 10,000 KRW or a Galaxy S25.
