“Healing in the Forest” … Gyeongbuk Province Operates ‘Mind Recovery Program’ for Residents Affected by Wildfires

**Comfort and Healing in Nature: A Time for Recovery Together**

On April 11, it was announced that Gyeongsang Province and the National Forest Healing Center will operate the ‘Forest Fire Victim Heart Recovery Program’ to help residents affected by forest fires regain emotional stability and return to their daily lives.

The program will take place at the National Forest Healing Center located in Bonghyeon-myeon, Yeongju. Any residents affected by the forest fire and their families can participate through city and county group applications. The program includes a one-night, two-day accommodation schedule and offers more than simple relaxation; it is a comprehensive physical and mental recovery program based on nature in the forest.

Forest healing programs such as Forest Vitality Rejuvenation and Forest Rhythm Care focus on relieving physical tension and reducing mental stress using the healing power of the forest.

In addition, various optional programs such as Balance Therapy, Singing Bowl Meditation, and Water Healing Experience are available, allowing participants to experience customized recovery according to their psychological state and physical condition. Cho Hyeon-ae, Director of the Forest Resources Bureau of Gyeongbuk Province, remarked, “The wounds left by forest fires extend beyond physical trauma, deeply affecting the heart. We hope this program will provide small but meaningful comfort to the affected residents and serve as a starting point for healing and recovery.”
