Han’s side delegates unification method to People’s Power party officials
Kim’s side plans to complete unification by the 9th
People’s Power forms a unification promotion body under the election committee for quick discussions
In Seoul, Newsis reporter Lee Jae-woo reports that the independent presidential candidate Han Deok-su has conveyed his intention to leave the method and timing of unification with presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo to the People’s Power party. Kim’s side has reportedly conveyed to the party leadership that the unification can be completed by the 9th.
A core official from People’s Power stated on the 4th to Newsis, “Han’s side has conveyed to the party that they will leave the method and timing of unification to us,” and “Kim’s side says ‘it’s fine to unify by the 9th.'”
The official further stated, “From the party’s standpoint, it would be ideal to complete unification by the night of the 7th. By that night, unification needs to occur so that election-related materials can be ordered and submitted for review by the National Election Commission.”
Additionally, the official mentioned, “If unification is carried out through a public opinion poll, even if it is by the 9th, the date for the poll should be set quickly to arrange it with a polling agency.”
Han’s side expressed, “We are fine with any rules.”
A representative from Kim’s side noted, “Although there isn’t much time, it can be sufficiently accomplished between the 7th and 9th.”
At the first meeting of the election committee presided over by candidate Kim Moon-soo, People’s Power decided to quickly form a unification promotion body under Kim’s election committee to discuss the unification issue with candidate Han’s side.
