GM Korea Foundation donates 830 boxes of kimchi to the local community

At the “2025 Sharing Love Kimchi” event organized by the GM Korea Foundation, 50 employees and volunteers participated in making and distributing kimchi. On December 1st, it was announced that a total of 830 boxes of kimchi were delivered to social welfare organizations in Incheon. The event took place on November 29 at the Bupyeong District Volunteer Center, where Hector Villarreal, Chairman of the GM Korea Foundation and President of GM Korea, along with key employees and members of GM Dreams, joined in preparing and packaging the kimchi. The finished kimchi was delivered to local welfare facilities, child care institutions, and facilities for people with disabilities to support the underprivileged.

Villarreal stated that the kimchi sharing event is a major corporate social responsibility activity by GM to support a healthy winter for those in need and to spread warmth in the community. Since its establishment in 2005, the One Heart Foundation has delivered a total of 286 tons of kimchi to vulnerable community members. Additionally, the foundation engages in various social contribution activities in areas such as education, environment, health, and safety.

GM Dreams is a volunteer group formed by about 20 GM employees, involved in volunteer work such as the university student auto camping competition and delivering Children’s Day gift boxes to disadvantaged children, practicing sharing for community co-prosperity. A representative of GM Korea mentioned that they consistently engage in activities aimed at strengthening community ties, like kimchi and briquette support, intending to expand cooperative values with companies and implement corporate social responsibility for vulnerable groups.
