Gibo supports Estron, a meter manufacturer, as the first in taxonomy guarantee

(Busan=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Sang-hyun: On the 23rd, the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC) announced that it has selected Astron, a company manufacturing IoT-based remote metering devices, as the first case of the Taxonomy Evaluation Guarantee, which was introduced last month to promote green financing.

The Taxonomy Evaluation Guarantee is a specialized guarantee that supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies engaged in economic activities suitable for the Korean Green Classification System, utilizing KOTEC’s self-developed Taxonomy Evaluation System (KTAS).

KOTEC plans to strengthen green finance support by being the first guarantee institution to receive 40 billion won from the Climate Response Fund and supplying guarantees amounting to 280 billion won this year.

Astron, the first company to receive the Taxonomy Evaluation Guarantee, has developed and commercialized IoT remote power metering devices and electric safety control systems since its establishment in 2009.

The company’s products collect power usage information periodically and deliver risk information to a cloud server, equipped with a power cut-off function that can prevent disasters such as fires, thus being recognized for its technological differentiation.

With this guarantee, Astron will receive benefits such as an increase in the guarantee ratio (from 85% to a maximum of 95%), a reduction in the guarantee fee (up to 0.4 percentage points), and the guarantee fee support from the agreement bank (0.7 percentage points for two years).
