[OSEN=Kang Seo-jeong Reporter] The girl group (G)I-DLE donated 50 million won to the Korean Red Cross.

On the 29th, the Korean Red Cross (Chairman Kim Cheol-soo) announced that (G)I-DLE members Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua each donated 10 million won, totaling 50 million won, for flood recovery support.

This donation was made as (G)I-DLE recognized the significance of the Red Cross emblem used as a symbol for life-saving activities according to the Geneva Conventions and decided to participate in flood support and recovery efforts following the record-breaking rainfall in 200 years.

All (G)I-DLE members expressed, “Through the humanitarian activities of the Red Cross that save lives, we hope that the disaster-affected victims will find comfort and return to their daily lives as soon as possible.”

Korean Red Cross Chairman Kim Cheol-soo remarked, “I believe that the support from (G)I-DLE will be a warm comfort and great strength to the flood victims in the affected areas,” adding, “As the legally designated disaster management agency and relief support organization, the Korean Red Cross will do its best in flood recovery activities.”

Meanwhile, since July 8, the Korean Red Cross has been engaging in flood emergency relief and recovery activities in various regions across the country where more than 2,600 employees and volunteers have been participating for 22 consecutive days following heavy rain.

Established in 1905, the Korean Red Cross has been carrying out relief and recovery activities in disaster areas at home and abroad, running to places of human suffering first and engaging in life-saving humanitarian activities for 119 years. /[email protected]
