Genesis-Metropolitan unveils four new bronze sculptures by Jeffrey Gibson.

**Genesis-Metropolitan Partnership Exhibition Opens**

Genesis announced on the 15th that the ‘The Genesis Façade Commission: Jeffrey Gibson’ exhibition, a partnership with the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, opened on the 12th of this month. This year’s exhibition features new works by Jeffrey Gibson, who was the representative artist for the U.S. Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale.

Gibson introduces four new bronze sculptures, each approximately 3 meters tall. These sculptures depict deer, coyotes, squirrels, and hawks that inhabit the area around Hudson, New York, where Gibson’s studio is located, and Central Park near the Metropolitan Museum.

For the models, Gibson used wood from the Hudson area, along with beads, fabrics, and leather, items he has employed in the past. He then used digital scanning technology to create the large bronze sculptures.

This project marks Gibson’s first large-scale work using bronze. The sculptures were post-treated with a patina technique that adds pigments to the bronze, ensuring realistic portrayal of the materials used in the model-making process.

The ‘The Genesis Façade Commission’ exhibition will run until June 9th of next year. Since last year, Genesis and the Metropolitan Museum have been displaying large-scale installation works by newly selected artists on the museum’s front façade annually.

A representative from Genesis stated, “Through the second exhibition of ‘The Genesis Façade Commission’, a diverse audience will be able to experience the expanded relationship of life forms encompassing nature and urban environments proposed by Jeffrey Gibson. We look forward to having in-depth conversations about the cultural diversity and the values of coexistence that the artist explores.”
