Genesis launched the brand’s first high-performance model, the GV60 Magma, which combines performance with refined emotion, on Tuesday, the 13th. The GV60 Magma is a symbolic model that embodies the direction and commitment of Genesis to emerge as a true luxury brand over the next decade. It is not just about speed; it is Genesis’s first luxury high-performance model that delivers both luxury and a refined riding experience.
The GV60 Magma boasts impressive dynamic performance as the leading electrified model of Genesis, with a 0-200 km/h time of 10.9 seconds and a top speed of 264 km/h. It is equipped with an 84 kWh 4th generation battery, enabling a driving range of 346 km on a single charge based on the national certification standards and a combined efficiency of 3.7 km/kWh, making it suitable for everyday driving.
The GV60 Magma is outfitted with powerful front and rear motors, delivering a combined maximum power output of 448 kW (609 hp) and a peak torque of 740 Nm. When using the boost mode, it can produce an even more impressive performance of up to 478 kW (650 hp) and a maximum torque of 790 Nm for about 15 seconds. Furthermore, Genesis has improved the cooling and durability of the front and rear motors to ensure stable performance even during prolonged high-power driving and enhanced the 2-stage motor control for an extended maximum output maintenance section in boost mode.
Additionally, Genesis has equipped the GV60 Magma with Magma-exclusive drive modes like ‘GT Mode’ for stability and comfort at high speeds, and ‘Sprint Mode’ for extreme driving performance, allowing drivers to achieve optimal performance depending on the driving situation. A Genesis representative stated, “The GV60 Magma is the first high-performance model by Genesis, a result of carrying the challenge from the concept stage into reality, and it marks a new starting point defining luxury anew for Genesis. It will redefine the meaning of high-performance luxury by blending Genesis’s sophistication and emotional resonance beyond just performance on the track.
The GV60 Magma is offered in a single trim with a selling price of 96.57 million KRW, based on a 3.5% individual consumption tax. Meanwhile, Genesis will be holding a live vehicle exhibition and various marketing activities at Genesis Studio Hanam for about two months from mid-January to commemorate the launch of the GV60 Magma.
