Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and head of the U.S. Department of Governmental Efficiency (DOGE), is potentially gaining another child, as a woman has come forward claiming to have given birth to his 13th child. On the 15th (local time), U.S. media outlets such as the New York Post reported that conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair wrote on X (formerly Twitter) the previous day, “I gave birth to a baby 5 months ago. Elon Musk is the father.”
St. Clair explained that she hadn’t revealed this before to protect the child’s privacy and safety but felt compelled to do so as tabloids appeared ready to make it public. She asked the media to respect the privacy of her child as she aims to raise the child in a normal and safe environment.
Though the revelation gained traction online, Musk hasn’t directly commented on it. Instead, about two hours later, he humorously reacted with a laughing emoji to another X user’s post listing Musk’s various “side activities” and asking how he could manage so much, ending with “make another baby”. In response to a post suggesting that St. Clair planned for 5 years to entrap Musk, he simply commented “Whoa”.
Previously, Musk was known to have 12 children, though his first child died at 10 weeks old. He has five sons with his first wife, writer Justine Wilson, and two sons and a daughter with Canadian singer Grimes. Through Walter Isaacson’s writing, it was also revealed that he has two children with Shivon Zilis, an executive at his neural technology startup Neuralink. In June last year, there were reports of a third child with Zilis, which Musk did not deny.
In recent years, Musk has repeatedly highlighted the importance of having children amidst declining global birth rates through his X posts and various talks.
