‘Ahead of this year’s longest nine-day Lunar New Year holiday, theme parks have launched campaigns to attract visitors. Instead of traveling abroad, these parks are offering unique experiences such as traditional games for those celebrating the holiday domestically.’,

‘First, Everland is hosting a special event titled ‘Exciting K-Play Competition’ from February 2 for a total of nine days. At Carnival Plaza, anyone can freely enjoy traditional games like Ttakji-chigi, Biseok-chigi, Gonggi, Spinning Tops, and Jegichagi from 11:30 AM to 5 PM. Participants can form teams with family, friends, or couples to compete in various events.’,
‘A mini board game zone is set on the steps of the Carnival Plaza where winning involves reaching the top first through Rock-Paper-Scissors. The steps feature fun missions like ‘Advance 3 Steps’, ‘Retreat 2 Steps’, ‘Switch Places with Opponent’ and ‘Treat Others to Snacks’ at random. Additionally, the characters dressed in Hanbok, Lenny and Lala, will offer photo sessions four times a day for guests. The Magic Time Restaurant by the Plaza serves special Lunar New Year menus and traditional snacks.’,
‘The Four Seasons Garden will host a special event titled ‘Moomin Photo Time & Lucky Fishing’ with Moomin characters until January 30, providing a chance to send well-wishing cards. Held four times daily, anyone can participate through on-site registration. Cards with various messages concerning health, happiness, love, and wealth are fished randomly, making it a fun fortune-telling experience. The country’s first Moomin IP multimedia show ‘Moomin Fireworks’ will be expanded in celebration of the Lunar New Year.’,

Lotte World Adventure will present the ‘Folk Madang’ performance daily at 5 PM along the first floor parade route until February 16. Adventure’s main characters, Lotty and Lorry, dressed in Hanbok, will perform traditional percussion instruments such as Kkwaenggwari, Janggu, and Buk, and continue with a fan dance.’,
On the third floor of Adventure’s Folk Museum, a special exhibition, ‘Yeominrak: Enjoy with People’, showcases the royal culture of the Joseon Dynasty. It explores themes like music used by kings to harmonize the world, court events held each New Year, and festivals celebrated by the royal family and the public together. Additionally, a crafting experience making a ‘Shrinkles Keychain’ using ‘Talisman to Ward Off Bad Luck’ design is available.’,
At Lotte World Aquarium, special underwater weavings by aquarists in Hanbok will take place twice daily (2 PM, 4:30 PM) in the main tank until January 30. Aquarists will offer deep bows to guests accompanied by traditional Korean music, delivering New Year’s messages. An event titled ‘The Road to Health Checkup’ will treat viewers to a baby Humboldt penguin wearing a Hanbok cape riding a stroller past sea lions, the main tank, to the animal hospital daily at 11:30 AM until February 2. A baby penguin quiz offering a ‘Penguin Feather Talisman’ also takes place.’,
To celebrate the ‘Year of the Blue Snake’, new creatures akin to snakes are on display. At the underground Freshwater Zone large cichlid tank, creatures resembling snakes ‘Polypterus’, ‘Indian Knifefish’ known for their snake-like swimming forms, and ‘Tropical Gar’ with scales similar to snakes are exhibited.’,
At Seoul Sky, fusion Korean classical music busking is planned. On the 29th and 30th, groups combining vocalists and haegeum players – ‘Nangchangnangchang Heungkitaka’ and those blending classical instruments with drums – ‘Lala Ensemble’ will perform onstage.’,

Legoland Korea Resort is hosting a ‘Seolprise’ event to celebrate Lunar New Year. This includes a ‘Lucky Pouch Making’ contest, encouraging families to unleash their creativity and make their own Lego lucky pouches to compete from 11 AM to 4:30 PM in the indoor play area ‘Bricktopia Lounge’. Winners are announced at 5 PM each day, awarded with Lego prizes, and their works displayed at Legoland.’,
Legoland is also holding a dance party designed to be enjoyable for not just children, the resort’s primary demographic, but parents and adults as well. The ‘New Year Kids Party’ conducted in three parts in the 4D Cinema Theater of Lego City, includes dancing to Lunar New Year song remix versions until the music stops, followed by family dance battles. In the second part, a mini quiz event themed around 2025 Eulsayeon is held, rewarding those who correctly answer with Lego figures and Lego products worth up to 100,000 won. The final part sees performances of various music genres like retro, EDM, and Billboard pop.
