[Herald Economy=Reporter Seo Jeong-eun] Former President Yoon Suk-yeol is set to leave the Hannam-dong official residence as early as the 11th.

On the 10th, a representative from Yoon’s side stated, “The schedule for moving to the residence has not been confirmed, but it will not be past the weekend,” adding, “We will inform separately once the schedule is confirmed.” The presidential office is reportedly discussing the option of announcing the departure date the day before or on the morning of the day it occurs.

Former President Yoon and his spouse will move with the 11 pets they kept at the official residence, including dogs and cats. It is reported that a significant portion of the Yoon couple’s belongings have already been moved, and most repairs on the new residence have been completed.

Considering that former President Yoon commuted from home during the first six months of his term starting May 2022, moving to the Seocho-dong residence is not expected to pose significant security issues.

With Yoon’s departure, around 40-member security team has been established by the Presidential Security Service to guard the residence. Under the “Act on the Protection of Former Presidents,” former President Yoon is entitled to protection by the security service for up to 10 years.
