Toyota Korea announced on the 13th that on November 12th, it held the “2025 Toyota · Lexus Sharing Love Kimchi Making” event at 11 welfare institutions nationwide, in collaboration with the Seoul Council on Social Welfare, to deliver lovingly prepared kimchi to underprivileged neighbors in the community.
The “Sharing Love Kimchi Making” event, now in its 14th year, is a representative social contribution program involving Toyota Korea and all official Toyota and Lexus dealership employees. Since its first event in 2012, it has consistently spread warmth to marginalized members of the community each winter.
This year, around 330 employees participated, conducting kimchi-making events simultaneously at welfare institutions across cities such as Seoul, Gyeonggi, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan, Gwangju, and Jeju, and at the social welfare corporation “Anna’s House,” producing approximately 17 tons of kimchi. In some regions, they personally met beneficiaries to deliver the kimchi, adding to the community spirit of collaboration.
Additionally, Toyota Korea encouraged continued participation in community contributions by awarding voluntary service certificates produced internally to participating employees after the event.
This year’s event also saw the participation of dignitaries such as Oscar Tsuyoshi, the Consul General of the Japanese Consulate in Busan, and Yuichi Ikeda, the Consul General of the Japanese Consulate in Jeju, along with heads of regional social welfare institutions, who shared the intention to contribute to Korean communities.
Manabu Konayama, President and CEO of Toyota Korea, remarked, “The Love Kimchi Sharing event is a meaningful social contribution program where employees of Toyota and Lexus nationwide come together as one team to share warmth with underprivileged neighbors in the community. We hope the lovingly prepared kimchi offers a small comfort and a warm winter to those in need, and we will continue to uphold the value of sharing as a responsible corporate citizen growing alongside the community.”
Since its establishment in 2000, Toyota Korea has continuously engaged in various social contribution activities to grow with the community. In addition to the “Love Kimchi Sharing,” it fulfills its social responsibility as a trusted corporate citizen through initiatives like supporting the National Cancer Center, the Sejong Dream Tree Orchestra, and the Korea Paralympic Committee.
