Fire in the Cafeteria of an Elementary School in Suwon; Over 900 People Evacuated

A fire broke out in a cafeteria of an elementary school in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, leading to the evacuation of over 900 people. The fire occurred around 8:50 a.m. on the 2nd at an elementary school located in Ingye-dong, Paldal District, Suwon City. A total of 926 people, including 840 students and 86 faculty members, were evacuated. Fortunately, there were no injuries. The school confirmed that all students and staff had safely evacuated the building and subsequently sent all students home. The fire was completely extinguished by around 9:14 a.m., approximately 20 minutes after it started. It was reported that the alarm functioned properly during the fire. Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire, suspecting it began with an air purifier in the cafeteria.
