On the night of the 19th, Kim Ho-jung apologized through his agency. He admitted to the crime of drunk driving and said, “I want to express my sincere apology to many people who have been hurt and disappointed by my momentary wrong judgment. I deeply regret and reflect on my actions. I will sincerely cooperate with the police investigation.”
He also posted an apology on his fan cafe, saying, “I am sorry for causing a great deal of damage to my dignity. I am well aware that even a sip of alcohol should not be consumed before taking the wheel. I know very well that making your loved ones suffer due to foolish decisions is not the behavior of an adult; it is truly despicable.”
He added, “What can a person who has committed a crime say? I am still under investigation. When the investigation is over and all the results are out, I will return home.”
Kim Ho-jung’s agency, Think Entertainment, also bowed their heads in apology for covering up Kim Ho-jung’s wrongdoing. They apologized for making irreparable mistakes with a wrong belief that artists should be protected.
The agency stated, “We bow our heads in apology for causing social controversy with Kim Ho-jung’s misconduct and our wrong judgment. We have been too hasty in hiding the situation from the very beginning until now. We sincerely apologize for not acting truthfully.”
Kim Ho-jung plans to voluntarily attend the police investigation and cooperate sincerely by acknowledging the facts of drunk driving and other charges.
Earlier, Kim Ho-jung was accused of fleeing after colliding with a taxi on a road in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, around 11:40 pm on the 9th. Since the incident was revealed on the 14th, evidence of drunk driving and driver substitution has been steadily uncovered.
The police have expanded their investigation into the agency’s organized attempts to cover up Kim Ho-jung’s hit-and-run accident. They searched Kim Ho-jung and the agency CEO’s residences, offices, and also investigated a well-known celebrity who was with Kim Ho-jung at an entertainment bar.
Kim Ho-jung made his debut in 2013 with the digital single ‘My Love’. He gained popularity by appearing on TV Chosun’s ‘Mr. Trot’ and finishing 4th in the finals.
