“Even During Vacation, No Gaps”: Busan Office of Education, First Grade Winter School Program

[Busan=Newsis] Reporter Ha Kyung-min = The Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education announced on the 2nd that it will operate the “Neulbom Winter School” for first-grade elementary school students to ensure a seamless Neulbom School operation during the winter break.

The Neulbom Winter School will be run in two formats: the “hub model” for program diversification and the “single school model” that reflects the conditions and characteristics of each school.

The hub model will operate from the 2nd to the 17th at the Busan Myeongji Neulbom specialized school as the hub. About 320 students from seven schools, including Nammyung Elementary, Myeongmun Elementary, Myungwon Elementary, Myeongji Elementary, Myeongho Elementary, Shinmyung Elementary, and Ocean Elementary, will participate.

In the mornings, unique learning-type Neulbom activities such as kids’ golf, chess class, smart guitar, and English musicals that reflect the demands of students and parents will be held. In the afternoons, diverse learning-oriented Neulbom programs centered on future new demand areas and hands-on experiences, such as AI robots, coding, music skipping rope, and creative arts, will be offered.

The Busan Office of Education will also operate transportation between the hub school and the schools involved for safe student commuting, and students who wish can receive care until 8 p.m.

The single school model will be implemented in all 304 elementary schools, taking into account each school’s conditions and characteristics.

Heo Nam-jo, head of the Early Childhood and Elementary Education Department at the city’s Office of Education, stated, “The Neulbom Winter School will significantly help in expanding the operation of high-quality Neulbom Schools that reflect the characteristics of the region and schools, as well as in increasing satisfaction for students and parents with the Neulbom Schools. We will continue to do our best to operate Neulbom Schools where parents can safely entrust their children.”
