Actress Park Ji-ah has passed away while undergoing treatment for cerebral infarction. She was 52 years old.

A close associate of Park Ji-ah told JTBC Entertainment News on the 30th, “She recently collapsed due to cerebral infarction and was undergoing treatment at the hospital, but unfortunately, she couldn’t recover and passed away. She was a passionate actress with a lot of enthusiasm for acting, so it is truly unfortunate.”

Park Ji-ah made her debut in 2002 with the movie ‘Coast Guard’ and is a graduate of the theater group Chimoo. She made a strong impression by playing the role of Asako’s ghost mother in the movie ‘Epitaph’ (2007) and the ghost director in the movie ‘Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum’ (2018).

Above all, she made her presence known to the public by successfully starring as Jung Mi-hee, Song Hye-kyo’s mother in the globally successful Netflix original series ‘The Glory’. With her overwhelming performance, she proved her identity as a talented actress. This year, she met the audience with a play called ‘Wife’, which ended in February, and attended the VIP screening of the movie ‘Wonderland’ held in May.

The late actress’s mortuary altar has been set up at the Seoul Asan Hospital Funeral Home.
