“Despite the ongoing severe cold, spring is already around the corner”… Everland to hold Tulip Festival next month

Opening on the 21st of next month and running until the end of April… Expansion of collaboration with ‘Sanrio Characters’

(Yongin = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Kwang-ho = Despite the recent ongoing cold wave, the onset of Ipchun on the 3rd signals that spring is already approaching.

Everland in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 5th that it will open its spring Tulip Festival on the 21st of next month.

During this year’s tulip festival, which will continue until the end of April, Everland plans to showcase about 1.2 million blossoms of 100 different kinds of spring flowers.

Especially, it plans to expand and present customer experience content in collaboration with ‘Sanrio Characters,’ a globally popular IP (intellectual property) known for characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Kuromi.

Last spring, Everland not only debuted a large-scale outdoor themed space in collaboration with Sanrio Characters for the first time in Korea, but also presented a variety of character content harmonizing with spring flowers. This gained significant popularity, particularly among the main target audience of the Gen Z and Alpha generation, as well as family visitors.

As a result, the number of visitors to Everland during last year’s tulip festival period increased by about 10% compared to the previous year.

Accordingly, Everland plans to expand the collaboration stage with Sanrio Characters to areas throughout the park, including Four Seasons Garden, Global Fair, and Magic Land, during this year’s festival.

They also plan to provide opportunities to meet various Sanrio Characters, such as Hangyodon, Keroppi, and Usahana, which are emerging as rising stars among the MZ generation.

An Everland representative stated, “In addition to strengthening content utilizing our own character IPs like Bao Family and Resi&Friends, we plan to present collaborative content with various popular external IPs starting with Sanrio Characters, offering unforgettable experiences to our customers this year.”

Meanwhile, Everland is set to release the country’s first garden subscription program, ‘Garden Pass,’ next month.

The Garden Pass is a premium membership program designed for customers who love flowers and nature. It connects high-quality garden infrastructures within and outside of Everland, such as Four Seasons Garden, Sky Garden Path, Ginkgo Forest, and Hoam Art Museum Garden, allowing visitors to experience plants at their most beautiful throughout the seasons.
